HRMS is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1991. The school currently has four Children's Houses for children 2 1/2 to 6 years of age. HRMS offers Early Morning and Full Day Montessori Programs for dual-career families.

We follow the educational philosophy and method created by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and pioneer in child development. The Montessori classroom offers an integrated and diverse curriculum where five main areas are emphasized, practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language, geography and cultural studies. Children move through the curriculum at their own pace by working with the specially designed didactic Montessori materials. Activities in music, movement and art are an integral and natural part of the child's daily experiences.

A volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of current and former Montessori parents, governs HRMS. Our Head of School and teaching staff all hold Montessori teaching credentials and bring diversity and experience to our school.

HRMS is pleased to announce the opening of our Montessori Elementary Program beginning September 2007.
